A New Year Begins

So my second year has just stated and I've been given a ton of work to do in the first week. The project I have been working on so far is the hardsurface modeling. I'm going to be posting up as much work as I can. Please leave feedback, it'll really help out in my development.

I've pick a corner with in the world of Jak and Dexter. I found a piece of concept I really liked a decided to build it in Maya and up the poly count, since the game has a shortage of them in the game. Though I would make a more realistic looking garage with the A grave Zoomer being worked on.

The Zoomer is the main focal point I want to work on, making most of the peaces septet so I can place them wherever I want. also I've blocked out the scene so now I roughly know where everything is going to go.

chd George Hull Design

George Hull is a small concept art studio that work mostly in sci fi movie, designing beautiful futuristic city's and battle hardened ship. They've worked on such films like The Cloud Atlas, Battleship, The Island and The MATRIX. A lot of there work is very well referenced, some the the vehicles are basted off animals. http://www.ghull.com/#/
This is an image of the alien ship in battleship in all its glory, raining down fire upon to the human battleships. The ship is based off a crocodile head, by doing that the ship is naturally quite intimidating with a predator look.
Here is one of the humans ships in the Matrix armed to the teeth with guns, with every angle covered. The style to the amazing vehicles is a bit steam-punk style, with its over sized guns and hover panels.
The Island tuck a nice direction to the future having a lot of the building form now have just been customized to the new living styles to the future.

Ben Procter

Ben Procter are a art department that work on Visual Effects and Concept Art for the movie industry. They've work on such films as Prometheus, Avatar, Transformers, Tron Legacy and many more. Here are some images i found on the website that i liked, you can see they have a great understanding of the environments and a good eye for detail. http://benprocter.squarespace.com/
I love the lighting in this image it has a real dramatic and epic feel to it, the hole of the Tron movie is like this picture.
Here is a door from the ship in Prometheus see how the simple marking give the door a seance of meaning and importance.
This is the Ship Prometheus looking very grand. The ship is well structured by taking one look you can tell whats is what, the hole design of this ship have been well planed.
