Finally got round to finishing the belly pan. Rebuild the wheels, much much happier with them and added some normals to show the bevels and grooves.
I use the Blog to post what i'm working on and to look back when my work wasn't so great. Its a sort of scrap book.

Beetle Baja Update 06
Lots of changes and progress have happened over the past few weeks. Big changes to the vehicle, such as larger wheels with off road tread. Body frame and roof rack added also blocked out the engine.
Rebuild the skeleton for the vehicle and now have it working in unreal engine 4 with physics and suspension all reaction with the environment.

Beetle Baja Update 05
There has been lots of little changes to the Beetle. First of all to make it easier to input to the game engine iv simplified the bellypan, manly because the player wouldn't see much of their carriers being in the driving seat and it will really help when it come to rigging it down the line.
From crit I got back from other people, saying the suspension needed to be higher and the wheels wider has been done. not much has changed from first look but lots has been done on the belly pan in preparation for rigging stage.

Beetle Baja Update 04
The beetle has been re-tweaked and reshaped in some areas, on closer inspection the was uneven edges and polygons that didn't match up. all so the suspension was too low so iv raised and added the other side panels. All in all i'm super happy with how it's looking and really want to get this into the engine as soon as possible but i've still got to put a lot of time in to finishing the first stage of the vehicle

3D Scanning with the Xbox Kinect
Iv been messing around with the Kinect developer Toolkit. Having some fun with all the resources it has to offer, here's a 3D scan I was able to make in no time. Think this might be useful for something in the future.

Beetle Baja Update 03
Half way there, I have a good idea where everything needs to go now. It's all seems to be fitting, Iv blocked out the seats and engine. The main area ill be working on is the back substitution. Once this is complete ill build a vehicle skeleton for it to react the different geometry in the game engine.
